FOCUS GROUPS IN NOTTINGHAM
As a Master’s student at the University of Nottingham Business School, I am currently undertaking a research on the gay subculture and luxury advertising.
I am inviting 16 gay men to participate in one of the 2 focus groups* I am organizing in Nottingham. The participants should be 18 or above, residing in the UK but from any ethnic background, and have an interest in luxury goods (perfumes, cosmetics, clothing, cars...).
This study intends to give you the opportunity to speak out about your relationship with brands and to critically assess ads published in gay magazines (e.g. Out, Palladium). The group interview that will last 1 hour will be run in a relaxed atmosphere with food and beverages provided.
Dates: Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th of August 08

*A focus group is a form of qualitative research in which a group of people is asked about their attitude towards a product, service, concept, advertisement, idea, or packaging. Questions are asked in an interactive group setting where participants are free to talk with other group members.

Nottingham Ball Bois FC is a football club aimed at the local gay community and any other gay-friendly players and supporters. We have recently joined the national GFSN (Gay Football Supporters Network) League, and we also compete in friendly games and five-a-side tournaments. We have a weekly training session on Sundays.
